Chief Investment Officer

Joseph Siragusa is the Chief Investment Officer of Cottonwood Capital. He oversees all real estate due diligence, underwriting and debt financing for each transaction. In addition, Mr. Siragusa plays an active role in the financial structuring, drafting of disclosure documents and marketing of each transaction. Mr. Siragusa is also responsible for overseeing the asset management division which oversees the financial performance and management of all Cottonwood properties.

Mr. Siragusa most recently worked as a Vice President in the Commercial Mortgage Finance Group of Citigroup Global Markets Inc. in New York. There he was involved with the execution of fixed and floating rate commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) transactions. His responsibilities included overseeing all securitization-related due diligence and disclosure requirements and interacting with rating agencies and CMBS investors. He also supervised the underwriting of commercial real estate and the preparation of commercial loan asset summaries.

Prior to joining Citigroup, Mr. Siragusa worked as a Quantitative Research Associate in the Quantitative Research Group of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York, Where he provided analytic support for mortgage sales and trading, assisted in the pricing, hedging and analysis of residential mortgage-backed securities and produced weekly research articles.

Mr. Siragusa has also worked as an Analyst in the Commercial Mortgage Finance Group of Salomon Brothers in New York, where he analyzed and underwrote commercial loans and real estate. Before Salomon Brothers, Mr. Siragusa was as a Consultant in the Realty Consulting Group of Deloitte & Touche in Los Angeles and New York, where he performed commercial real estate valuation, analysis and market research.

Mr. Siragusa holds a Bachelors of Science from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, with a concentration in Hospitality Real Estate Finance and Development, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University Of Chicago Graduate School Of Business, with a concentration in Finance and Statistics.
